According to Ericsson Mobility Report, 5G telecom services are expanding rapidly in India since its launch in October 2022. At this time, 5G network is being deployed on a large scale in the Indian telecom market under the Digital India campaign.

According to the report, the number of 5G subscribers will reach around one crore by the end of 2022 within the first few months. It is estimated that by the end of 2028, about 57 percent of the country’s total mobile subscribers will use 5G services, making it the fastest growing 5G market in the world. Ericsson Mobility’s June 2023 report states that despite geopolitical challenges and a macroeconomic slowdown in some markets, communications service providers continue to invest in 5G technology globally.

By the end of 2023, the number of mobile phone subscribers using 5G services worldwide is estimated to reach 1.5 billion.
