What is RBI saying?
According to the guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank of India, if a customer’s account amount is wrongly transferred to someone else during online payment, the bank is responsible for looking into the complaint within 48 hours. As per Reserve Bank of India guidelines issued in the meantime, the customer must first report the refund to the payment service provider. Report the same to customer care support of GPay, PhonePe, Paytm or UPI app through which you transferred money.
