New offering from Hyundai in Exter form

Hyundai’s new offering in the form of Exeter is aimed at attracting buyers. This car is very special for those who want to buy an ‘SUV’ without spending a lot of money, the Exeter is priced between Rs 6 lakh and 10 lakh, has an extensive feature list and is available with petrol engines with manual and automatic manual transmission. As petrol-CNG powertrain with manual gearbox only.

The Exeter’s features give it that ‘SUV’ nature

The Exeter’s features give it its ‘SUV’ nature – a flat bonnet, a high stance, muscular wheel arches and 185mm of ground clearance. Silver skid plates with exposed forged rivets give it a butch look, as does its distinctive, exaggerated bulge and oversized square body cladding. However, these dwarf its dual-tone, 15-inch alloys, and the thick C-pillar and upright stance do nothing to hide the sheer visual weight of its rear three-quarters. Smart detailing like H-pattern LED daytime running lamps inserts and multi-dimensional gloss black paneling on the front grille, C-pillar and boot design.

The interior of the Exeter looks familiar

The interior of the Exeter looks familiar. Because most bits are shared with the Neos, this isn’t a bad thing. Fit and finish are top-notch, though the hard plastics inside, high-quality leather-wrapped steering wheel and nicely finished gear lever, as well as the digital instrument cluster and sunroof are attractive enough, but its single-tone black color scheme doesn’t feel as airy or welcoming as the Nios.

Exeter is a high-riding car with 185mm ground clearance

The Xtor is a high-riding vehicle with a ground clearance of 185mm, and the suspension has been revised compared to the Grand i10 Nios, the car it is based on. It takes road bumps very well and absorbs bumps very well but you will feel a rumble inside when you hit big potholes. The good news is that the Exeter drives much quieter than its hatchback counterpart and feels just as developed as the Venu behind the wheel. Admirably, body roll is well under control, and thanks to its 2,450mm wheelbase, the Exeter feels like a stable NH cruiser, and while its steering is light, it’s weighted to give the driver confidence at speed. The car is not a sporty handler but its handling manners feel neutral and predictable and there are few roll-around corners.
