Elevating the trial’s authenticity, the ISRO has successfully executed helicopter-based air drop trials for the crew escape system. These real-world tests serve to validate the system’s efficacy at altitudes beyond the reach of conventional aircraft. “A helicopter – or any aeroplane for that matter – cannot go to an altitude of say 10km from the surface of the earth. The test vehicle missions will test all systems and processes at a much greater height,” clarified an official.

Additionally, a second crew module, pivotal for the forthcoming uncrewed mission, has been promptly manufactured and handed over to ISRO by the industry. The strategic plan encompasses two test vehicle missions prior to the debut uncrewed voyage, followed by another pair preceding the second uncrewed undertaking.
