President’s Award for Neera
Kamala Sohni is featured in a Google Doodle, showing her leading role in ‘Neera’. Neera is a drink made from date palm juice, known for its high vitamin C content. Kamala Sohni received the President’s Award for her work in the film Neera. She was also the first woman director of the Royal Institute of Science in Bombay. Sohni was born on this day in 1911 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He studied chemistry and physics at Bombay University, graduating at the top of his class in 1933.
