UPI has changed people’s habits to such an extent that they now stop carrying cash in their pockets. Digital payment services platform Google Pay has introduced an additional feature to initiate UPI services using Aadhaar card in the app.
Under this service, Google Pay users will be able to generate UPI PIN without a debit card. But the user can avail this service only when his mobile phone number, bank account and Aadhaar number are linked.
The Aadhaar-based UPI service will enable Google Pay users to generate a UPI PIN without a debit card, Google Pay said. The company officially informed this information.
As UPI has billions of Indian users, it is expected to help many more users to create UPI IDs and enable them to make digital payments.
Google Pay will activate the account after using the debit card and Aadhaar number. User has to choose any one of these options.
