After meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Musk said he plans to visit India next year.
‘I believe Tesla will stay in India’
When asked if Tesla (automobile company) will enter the Indian market, Musk said that he is planning to visit the country next year. He said, I believe Tesla will stay in India. India is the third largest energy consumer in the world. Amid rising tensions between China and the US, India is positioning itself as an alternative investment destination for American companies.

Elon Musk is looking for a location for Tesla’s next factory. He is looking at possible destinations in France, South Korea and Indonesia. He said India has strong potential for green energy including solar. Musk said, “I want to thank the Prime Minister for his support and hope we can work together in the near future.”

In a separate video statement, Musk praised Modi saying that he really cares about India as he is talking to us about making significant investments in India. He said, I am a fan of Modi. Describing his conversation with the Prime Minister as excellent, Musk said India is doing a great job in investing in solar energy. After meeting Musk, PM Modi tweeted, Great to meet you today, Elon Musk. We had wide ranging conversations on many topics from energy to spirituality. In response, Kasturi said, “It is an honor for me to meet you again.”
