According to media reports, BMW Group’s total sales rose five percent year-on-year to 5,867 units in the first half of 2023. Sales of premium motorcycles under the group’s BMW Motorrad brand also grew by over 50 percent to 4,667 units in January-June, according to a statement issued by the company. In the first half of the year, the group sold 5,476 BMW brand vehicles. At the same time, Mini sales stood at 391 units. This is the company’s highest half-yearly sales figures in India.

These barriers were in place for the first four months of 2023.
BMW’s electric car is rapidly gaining market share
BMW Group India President Vikram Pawah also said that BMW’s electric cars i7, ix, i4 and Mini SE are also gaining momentum in the market. He said, in the first half of 2023, we have sold more than 500 electric vehicles. Which is 46 percent more than the previous year. We are at the forefront of the premium electric vehicle segment with over 50 percent market share.
The Indian luxury car market is set for record sales

A big reason for this is the excellent performance of companies like Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi in the first half. In January-June this year, German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz registered its highest half-yearly sales in India with 8,528 units. This number is 13 percent higher than the same period a year ago. However, BMW Group sales during the period stood at 5,867 units, the highest in any half-year. Audi, another German luxury carmaker, sold 3,474 vehicles in the first half of 2023, a 97 percent year-over-year increase.
The luxury car sold 21,000 units in the first six months
According to Audi India head Balbir Singh Dhillon, it is estimated that the luxury car segment sold around 21,000 cars in the first six months (of the year) and generally the second half is better than the first half. He said that our estimate is that the entire luxury car segment will sell around 46,000-47,000 cars this year, which will definitely be the peak level. The previous sales record in the luxury car segment was around 40,000 units, which was set in 2018.
