So how was Panipuri discovered?
It is believed that the history of the popular pani puri dates back to the Mahabharata era, when the newly married Draupadi was challenged to feed her five husbands with scarce resources, only a few leftover potatoes and vegetables and a small amount of wheat flour. To work with this, Draupadi stuffed small pieces of fried dough into a mixture of potatoes and vegetables, and thus panipuri was invented.
