The two Japanese motorcycle manufacturers are set to compete with each other. Honda has reportedly started preparations to launch a powerful new four-cylinder 400cc bike to compete with Japanese bike maker Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R. Honda’s new bike is powered by an inline 4-cylinder 400cc engine, which is said to sound quite impressive. Kawasaki entered the bike market in the 1990s with the ZX-4R. Now Honda may come up with exciting schemes for the new four-cylinder 400cc bike. The big news is that Honda, like rival bike maker Kawasaki, plans to sell its new four-cylinder bikes in America and Japan.

Viral picture on the internet

By 2022, Honda had the popular CB400 Super Four and Super Bowl d’Or models, powered by a 399cc inline-four engine. Now it has been discontinued but that is about to change and it will be seen with the CB650R’s 650cc engine with neo sports cafe styling and round headlights. According to internet speculation, Honda may also be working on a new in-line 4-cylinder 400cc engine of its own. Also, some of the best rendered images have surfaced on the internet, which give an indication of what the different variants of the new bike might look like.

The new CB400 may come with a diamond frame

Honda’s Japanese line-up included the CB400 Super Four and the Super Bowl d’Or Final Edition (powered by a liquid-cooled, 399cc inline four-cylinder engine) in Honda’s Japanese line-up before the retro model was discontinued by 2022, but the CB400 was replaced. CB650R by Honda. 400cc of the 650cc engine can be revved. It may also see a number of neo sports cafe styling features from the CB650R like the rounded headlights. The new Honda CB400 is in the works, so the Super Bowl d’Or model can also be expected with a half-fairing. It is expected that the new CB400 may come with a diamond frame.

Honda’s new bike will compete with the Kawasaki ZX-4R

Kawasaki recently created a stir in the segment by relaunching the in-line 4-cylinder 400cc engine segment as the ZX-4R with a manic 80PS output at 15,000rpm (with ram-air cooling). Hence, Honda may also introduce a supersport model of the new 400cc engine it is developing (probably called CBR400RR) and give tough competition to Team Green in the segment.

Will be sold in Japan and America

Currently, these news are in the era of speculation. So there is no official information from the company as of now, but if Honda is working on a new 400cc in-line 4-cylinder engine, it will be the best model to attract the target customers of the segment. There is also a possibility that just like Kawasaki has not launched the ZX-4R in India, Honda is also preparing to sell its new super power bike in Japan and America.

Kawasaki discontinued the ZX-4R

Let us tell you that in February this year, Kawasaki unveiled its latest baby sportbike, the Kawasaki ZX-4R. The bike is powered by an air-cooled 400 cc inline four-cylinder engine, the only bike in its segment. The bike will be launched in three variants, including the standard ZX-4R, ZX-4R SE and ZX-4RR. The 400 cc inline-four engine of this Kawasaki bike produces a power output of around 79 Bhp and revs at 15,000 rpm. It has a peak torque of around 36 Nm at 11,000 rpm. The engine will run faster. However, peak torque is quite high throughout the rev range.

The bike features Kawasaki’s Ram Air technology. It features SFF-BP front forks made by Shobha as well as BFRC-lite rear shocks from the same manufacturer. The rear of the bike has a horizontal back-link rear suspension system. It has a 290 mm twin-disc brake setup at the front and a 220 mm single-disc brake at the rear.
