Tata Altroz Hatchback: There is good news for car enthusiasts and that is the addition of two new premium variants to the Altroz hatchback launched by Tata Motors in March 2022. Tata Motors has launched two new premium variants of the Altroz hatchback. The Tata Altroz is now available in XM trim at a price of Rs 6.90 lakh, while the XM (S) trim is priced at Rs 7.35 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom Delhi. The new top variant brings more features to the hatchback, including an electric sunroof on the XM(S). It will be positioned between Altroz XE and XM+.
Petrol engine
The new Tata Altroz variants aim to add more value to customers with a wider range and appeal. The new variants will be exclusively available with the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine mated to a manual transmission. Talking about features, the Altroz XM steering-mounted controls, height adjustable according to the driver’s seat. Will come with 16-inch wheels with electric adjustment and foldable ORVM cover.
What is the specialty?
The Altroz XM also gets steering mounted controls, height adjustable driver seat, electrically adjustable wing mirrors and 16-inch wheels with wheel covers. The XM(S) trim gets a sunroof. Both trims also get a 9-inch touchscreen option. Tata Altroz is one of the cheapest cars in India that comes with these premium features.
Features of petrol engine variants
All petrol variants of the Tata Altroz are now available with 4 power windows. In addition to this, keyless entry is now available as standard. Apart from these, new features are also available on XE, XM+, XM+(S) and XT variants. Follow Me Home Lamps are available in the XE variant. And the reverse camera is also available in the XM+ and XM+(S) variants. It also gets cruise control along with height adjustable driver seat.
Manual trim change
The Tata Altroz 1.2 petrol manual has also made changes to other trims. The XE variant now gets rear power windows, remote keyless entry and follow-me-home headlamps. The XM+ and XM+S variants get reverse camera, height-adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control and a premium looking dashboard. In addition, the XT trim also gets height adjustment for the driving seat, 16-inch Hyperstyle wheels and a rear defogger.
Automatic transmission is introduced in March 2022
Tata Motors introduced the automatic transmission for the Altroz hatchback in March 2022. DCA (dual-clutch automatic) transmission is offered with the car’s 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. It will be available with seven different variants including dark trim. Altroz hatchback engine
The Altroz hatchback is powered by a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine generating 86 PS of maximum power and 113 Nm of peak torque and was available with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard till now. Tata offers the Altroz with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine (110 PS/140 Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel mill (90 PS/200 Nm) and both these engines will continue to be offered with the 5MT.
Altroz DCA with features

Safety in Altroz hatchback
In terms of safety, the Altroz DCA gets dual frontal airbags, ABS with EBD, breakaway control, corner stability control, a reverse parking camera, low line tire pressure monitoring system, reverse parking sensor and auto park lock. It detects if the vehicle is stationary and the driver is not in the vehicle and automatically shifts to park mode.
