Pay Income Tax on PhonePe: Now no need to login to portal to pay income tax. Now you can make tax payments from your mobile phone. In fact, digital payments and financial technology platform PhonePe has introduced income tax payment facility through its app. PhonePe issued a statement saying that individual income tax payers and businesses can pay self-assessment tax and advance tax through UPI or credit card. Income tax payer will not need to connect to income tax portal for payment of advance tax. This amount will be placed in the tax portal within two working days.
This is how you can pay
Income tax payers can pay tax by logging into the app and choosing the Income Tax option. For this they need to provide details of tax type, assessment year, permanent account number (PAN). Taxpayer will get Unique Transaction Number i.e. UTR within one day of payment of tax. Payment invoice will be available within two working days.
4 crore ITR files, 80 lakh returned
So far more than four crore Income Tax Returns (ITR) have been filed for the financial year 2022-23. More than half of these investigations have been completed. The Income Tax department has so far refunded Rs.80 lakh. Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) Chairman Nitin Gupta informed this information.
