No More Black Simcards: To curb the growing cybercrime, the Central Government has taken a big step on the last day and has made police verification mandatory for the shopkeepers ie distributors selling SIM cards. Now whoever sells you the SIM will have a complete account of it with the government and for doing wrong, the government will immediately catch the shopkeeper and the concerned person. The verification of distributors will be done by the licensee or telecom operator. Whoever breaks this rule, the government can take legal action and impose a fine of 10 lakhs against him.

Facial based biometric approved for e-KYC

Government has approved facial based biometric for e-KYC while taking SIM card. Now you can get sim card through your face also. Along with this, the scan of the QR code has been implemented to know the basic details of the customers so that the printed Aadhaar card is not misused. That is, now the shopkeeper will get all the information by scanning the QR code of your Aadhaar card, he does not need to give you the printed Aadhaar card. If a distributor is found involved in wrongdoings, the government can cancel his license for 3 years. At present, the shopkeepers have 12 months time for registration, after which the government will take action against those operating illegally.

Also, here you can block the SIM card, report it in case of mobile theft and block or report fake numbers.
