How to pay income tax in phonepay new feature PhonePe, one of India’s most popular digital payment apps, has been making headlines in recent times for constantly offering new features In continuation of this, now the company has also introduced the facility of income tax payment in their app. Digital payments and financial technology platform PhonePe has launched income tax payment facility through its app. PhonePe on Monday issued a statement that individual income tax payers and traders can pay tax and advance tax after self-assessment through UPI or credit card. A feature about this has been added to the app.
Apart from bill payments, UPI transactions, mobile recharges etc., now with PhonPe app, you can also pay your income tax in one click. This new feature of the app can be used by both individual users and businesses. Income tax payer will not need to connect to income tax portal for payment of advance tax. This amount will be placed in the tax portal within two working days. The company said in a statement that income tax payers can login to the app and pay taxes by selecting the income tax portion. For this they need to provide details of tax type, assessment year, permanent account number (PAN). Taxpayer will get Unique Transaction Number i.e. UTR within one day of payment of tax. Payment invoice will be available within two working days.
Under the PhonePe Income Tax Payment feature, any tax paying user or business can directly deposit advance tax by assessing the tax on the app. The company claims that after this feature, users will no longer need to log into the tax portal. Niharika Segal, Head – Bill Payments & Recharge Business, PhonePe, said, “Taxation has always been a complicated process. PhonePe is now providing its users with a seamless way to meet their tax obligations. PhonePe has partnered with PayMate, a digital B2B payment service provider for this feature. Apparently, the company has launched this facility with an aim to make a big task easier for taxpayer users.
