Twitter vs Threads: Meta launched the Threads app on 6 July. In just 5 days, this app created a new record by achieving a userbase of 100 million. Looking at this achievement, everyone was saying that Twitter is going to get tough competition from threads. However, after performing well in the beginning, now the traffic of threads has dropped completely. Traffic on Threads has dropped by 75 percent since its launch on July 6, according to data from market analysis firm Sensor Tower. Means users are leaving the platform. Similarly, data from SimilarWeb shows that the average time users spend on the Threads app has decreased from 19 minutes to 4 minutes on iOS and from 21 minutes to 5 minutes on Android.
Why are threads not being liked?
Actually, people are not liking threads because right now users are not able to understand what is the purpose of this app. That is, it is like Instagram or like Twitter. Meta has also not brought any update in the app so that people like it. The app allows people to post etc. just like Twitter, but there is nothing like Twitter in it at the moment. Neither it has DM option, nor following nor it is for hard news. People were looking for an alternative to Twitter, but finally they have to come back to Twitter because at present there is no such app in the market which can be called an alternative to Twitter in true sense.
